After a number of teaser images and videos, Nissan has finally pulled the proverbial cloak off their smallest B-segment SUV yet. Not much was revealed at the preview but Nissan did announce that the production version of the Nissan Magnite is expected to arrive in early-2021 in the Indian market. There are also plans to sell the car globally.

At the unveiling, Nissan confirmed that the Magnite will be equipped with cruise control, Around View Monitor (360-degree camera), and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display.

Nissan also hinted that the Magnite will also have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Thanks to the equipment that the Magnite packs, Nissan is confident that the car will be a worthy contender against similar segment rivals in India like the Hyundai Venue, Suzuki Brezza as well as the upcoming Renault Kiger and Kia Sonet.

As previously mentioned, the Nissan Magnite is the company’s sub-4-metre SUV that will sit below the Nissan Kicks. It is built on the CMF-A+ platform shared with the upcoming Renault Kiger sibling.

The Nissan Magnite will have 2 petrol powertrain options on offer: a 1.0-litre HR10 turbocharged engine that dispenses 96 PS and a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine that is said to produce 73 PS and 96 Nm.
There are 2 transmissions to pick as well: a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT-type automatic.
