Slightly less than 2 years after making its debut in Malaysia, the 2021 Toyota RAV4 has been quietly removed from Toyota Malaysia’s official site.

Seeing that the Toyota RAV4 is imported (CBU) from Japan, we reckon that this is merely a temporary move before facelift model arrives.

At launch, the TNGA-K-based Toyota RAV4 was offered with two powertrain options: a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre and a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre engine. The entry-level 2.0-litre variant was dropped just two months after the launch, leaving the 2.5-litre model as the sole variant.

Recall that Toyota launched the facelifted RAV4 in Europe back in September 2021, before introducing it in various markets globally. It was then launched in Japan two months later in December 2021.

But that’s not all – Toyota will be further enhancing the RAV4 for the Japanese market with some tech improvements, slated to hit showrooms by October 2022.

The 2021 Toyota RAV4 was last priced from RM 215,665 (OTR without insurance and 50 percent SST discount, valid till 30-June).
