Mercedes-Benz has recently released a set of preview photos of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC undergoing winter testing in Arjeplog, Sweden.
Here’s what Mercedes-Benz has confirmed about the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC so far.
- Will have passive rear-wheel steering similar to W206 C-Class and W223 / V223 S-Class, as well as Airmatic suspension (availability depending on variant and market)
- Like C-Class, the new M254 engine from C-Class is only available with EQ Boost 48V mild-hybrid (MHEV) / plug-in hybrid (PHEV), no more conventional engines
- Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC can now detect stationary vehicles, working at speeds up to 97 km/h (previously 60 km/h).
- Active Steering Assist can in a traffic jam, now move the extreme edge of road to form the ‘Emergency Corridor’ – a regulation in Germany and Austria to maintain a clear path for emergency services vehicles.
- Faster and more accurate parking assistance
- New generation MBUX infotainment
- Augmented reality, including a new ‘transparent hood’ 360-degree camera feature for drivers to see real-time video feed of ground beneath the car.
- 12.3-inch driver display and 11.9-inch central display
- Digital Light with projection functions and customizable Coming Home / Leaving Home animation
When will the X254 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC be launched in Malaysia?
The outgoing X253 generation Mercedes-Benz GLC is currently selling at RM 299,539 for the GLC 200 and RM 338,693 for the GLC 300 - both locally-assembled (CKD). Prices valid until 30-June 2022.
Although the all-new X254 generation GLC will debut on June 2022, the model is not expected to go on sale in right-hand drive markets until end-2022, add another 6 months for local-assembly preparation.
In the case of the W206 C-Class, there was a 11-month gap between it going on sale in Europe (March 2021) and introduction in Malaysia (February 2022), although that's partly also due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The all-new X254 generation 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC is not expected to be launched in Malaysia until mid-2023.
