This is not a render. You’re looking at official images of the new 2022 BMW X7 facelift, now with a reworked front fascia, updated interior, and new mild-hybrid powertrains.
Split headlight units are making their debut in the new 2022 BMW X7 facelift. The horizontal LED light elements set higher up in the front-end house the position light, daytime driving lights and turn signal indicators. The units located below them are for the low-beam and high-beam headlights, with adaptive matrix LEDs.
The front bumper has also been redesigned to accommodate the new split-headlight design. As seen in recent BMWs, the 2022 BMW X7 facelift gets an optional illuminated kidney grille - standard on the range-topping M60i.
Changes at the rear are more subtle, with revised LED graphics and three-dimensional sculpting. The chrome bar that connects the taillights is now enclosed within a glass cover.
20-inch wheels are fitted as standard on the new BMW X7. The range-topping model and cars specified with the M Sport package come with 21-inch M wheels. Optional 23-inch wheels are also available.
Moving inside, there’s a floating dual-widescreen curved display like in the BMW iX, combining a 12.3-inch screen for the instrument cluster and 14.9-inch screen for the infotainment. It run on the latest BMW OS 8 system.
The air vents have also been redesigned and gone is the hand-sized gear knob, now replaced by a small lever.
All powertrains are integrated with the 48V mild hybrid technology, consisting of a crankshaft-mounted starter generator integrated into the transmission and contributes an extra 12 PS and 200 Nm of torque.
The 3.0-litre straight-six B58 engine in the X7 xDrive40i gets a bump in output to 380 PS/520 Nm (up from 340 PS/450 Nm), while the range-topping X7 M60i xDrive makes 530 PS/750 Nm. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The suite of driver-assistance systems also gets an update. New features include the extended range of functions offered by the front-collision warning system, which now also reduces the danger of a collision with cyclists, pedestrians or oncoming vehicles when turning off.
Variants with Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function specified get automatic Speed Limit Assist, route monitoring and traffic light recognition features. Also new is the exit warning function, which alerts occupants to a risk of collision when opening the door.
The worldwide market launch for the new 2022 BMW X7 facelift is slated to begin in August 2022. Closer to home, the new 2022 BMW X7 facelift is not expected to arrive in Malaysia until next year.
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
