Police said in a statement that they were alerted of a possible illegal race along the Island Eastern Corridor expressway when they spotted several cars driving westbound.

According to reports, the district council has received plenty of complaints about loud noises caused by cars racing on the expressway, especially after midnight or early mornings during weekends, for some time now.

In the first 11 months of 2020, officers reportedly issued 222,905 summonses for speeding offences. The number already exceeds the number of summonses issued in the whole of 2019 by 3 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of illegal street races reported rose in 2020 by 40 percent, from 139 between January to November of 2020. That’s 99 more reported than the whole of 2019.

The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle womenโ€™s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
