Facelifted Perodua Myvi spotted in Indonesia
Will be sold there as the Daihatsu Sirion
It gets the top-spec Myvi looks, but with a smaller 1.3-litre engine and no ADAS
Looks like Indonesia will be the next destination for the updated 2022 Perodua Myvi, as a video recently surfaced, showing several red units on a trailer. As before, the Perodua Myvi, which is sold in Indonesia as the Daihatsu Sirion, is imported (CBU) from Malaysia.
Fast forward to the 3:00 mark to see the Sirion
Now, it’s not exactly a spy video per say; instead, it’s a screenshot from a local Indonesian news channel, which conveniently captured the Sirion on a car transporter.
For the Indonesian market, the Daihatsu Sirion is offered with a naturally aspirated 1.3-litre engine that does 95 PS and 121 Nm. Out goes the dated 4-speed automatic, now replaced by a newer Dual-mode CVT (D-CVT).
Despite being fitted with the smaller and less power 1.3-litre engine, Indonesia’s Sirion is visually identical to our Myvi 1.5, down to its LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
That said, however, Indonesia’s Daihatsu Sirion will likely make do without the Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA) ADAS suite, something offered on the Myvi from the 1.3G variant onwards.
Prices of the new 2022 Daihatsu Sirion is expected to increase by 5 to 6 percent, as evident from its updated gazetted value. The outgoing, pre-facelift Daihatsu Sirion is priced between IDR 209,200,000 (~RM 63k) to IDR 224,700,000 (~RM 68k).
The updated 2022 Daihatsu Sirion is expected to hit Indonesian showrooms by July 2022.
