Standing at the forefront on the list of much-awaited Malaysian cars is the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza(D27A). We're still quite some time away from launch, but details are trickling in - today's one is especially tantalising.
It concerns the upcoming car's infotainment system, and sources close to the matter hint that it will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. If this turns out to be true, then it'll be the first Malaysian car to come with such capabilities, stock standard.
The question then is its infotainment touchscreen's size - the overseas markets' Toyota Veloz/Daihatsu Xenia, base cars of the Alza - both come with an 7-, 8- or 9-inch screen, depending on variant.
Beyond infotainment, the new Alza is expected to share a powertrain with the facelifted 2022 Perodua Myvi. This means the 2NR-VE engine (106 PS/137 Nm) that’s paired to a D-CVT automatic gearbox.
A full suite of ADAS is to be expected in the form of Perodua Smart Driver Assist (PSDA). All these goodies means that a price bump is all but confirmed too.
