Perodua Myvi driver in viral video arrested for bullying, fake plates used

The white Perodua Myvi seen in the viral video bullying other road users has been arrested. The suspect will be remanded until 13-May-2022.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement (JSPT) chief Assistant Commissioner Sarifudin Mohd Salleh told Sinar Harian that the suspect, a 32-year-old man, was arrested around the Kuala Selangor district.

The Kuala Selangor district police’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division carried out the arrest on 9-May-2022. Sarifudin also confirms that the suspect was using a fake number plate.

The police have been on the hunt for the white Perodua Myvi driver since a clip of the Myvi bullying other road users went viral on Saturday.

In the 27-second video, the Myvi was seen not only brake checking the victim but also waving a stick out the window to threaten the victim.

JSPT is investigating the driver under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.

In addition to that, the police are also requesting the victim in the video to come forth to assist in the investigation.
