The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) are looking for the owner of a BMW E30 seen in the viral video overtaking along a double line and causing an accident yesterday (30-May-2022).
Gombak district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Zainal Mohamed Mohamed told Utusan that the incident happened along Jalan Batu Arang-Rawang.
PDRM came across the viral clip around 4 pm and launched an investigation into the matter. They are currently tracing the owner of the BMW and the owner of the dashcam.
In the video, the BMW could be seen trying to escape heavy traffic by overtaking on the other lane. However, the driver was not able to merge back into the lane in time, forcing the oncoming car to brake heavily and a motorcycle to crash into the car.
The case is now investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
