The combination of style, practicality and overall value has made SUVs the defacto vehicles for many Malaysian families. Plus, with every major manufacturer brandishing their take on A-, B-, and C-Segment SUVs there are many to choose from at practically any budget.

On the flip side, if you feel that every other SUV have become all too much like the last one – then you’d also be right.

Peugeot's latest SUV lineup, consisting of the Peugeot 2008, 3008, and 5008 do just that – and the upcoming WapCar Autoshow 2022 might be your best chance to get behind the wheel of one.

2022 Peugeot 2008

The Peugeot 2008 is aimed at upcoming professionals and young singles who want to make a bold statement about their lifestyle. The 2008’s compact yet snazzy proportions make it easy and fun to drive around town, and very capable down a twisty backroad.

With a fuel-efficient and yet torquey powertrain – the 2008 makes light work of climbing up hills or overtaking whilst on the highway. Inside, the 2008 envelopes you in a classy and modern cockpit, highlighted by a 10-inch fully-digital instrument display and a 7-inch central infotainment screen.

Not forgetting, the 2008 also features a comprehensive list of ADAS technology such as Active Safety Brake (AEB), Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and Driver Attention Assist.

2022 Peugeot 3008

The Peugeot 3008 is designed to envelop you and your growing family in comfort and premium luxury. Generous in size, this 5-seater SUV oozes chiselled proportions and intricate detailing – such as the 3D-effect claw DRLs and frameless grille – the 3008 grabs attention like no other C-Segment SUV.  

Under the hood, there’s plenty of grunt courtesy of its turbocharged four-cylinder engine – guaranteeing good performance and efficiency on those long balik-kampung trips. Rest assured as well, that if the mood should take you – the 3008 is more than adept on a spirited drive courtesy of Peugeot’s trademark handling and suspension setup.

On the inside, the 3008’s fighter-jet-inspired cockpit is distinguished by a flowing centre console housing toggle-type switchgear for direct access to the 3008’s main comfort functions. Up top, the Peugeot i-Cockpit features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a new 10-inch capacitive touchscreen display.

2022 Peugeot 5008

Have a large family but can't find the right SUV? Well the 5008, whilst similar to 3008 in terms of overall design and performance, is 160 mm longer (with a 110 mm longer wheelbase) to accommodate 7 passengers. Courtesy of two seats which rise out easily from the boot floor, the 5008 offers all the practicality of a modern MPV but with the high-riding stature of an SUV.

Pull open the large rear doors to a cossetting cabin space for the entire family. Ample knee and headroom promises comfort even on longer journeys, whilst the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine delivers adequate power at all times.

Like the 3008, the 5008 offers an edgy yet inviting cockpit up front. For those with a sense of adventure, the Peugeot 5008 (and 3008) also comes equipped with Peugeot’s Advanced Grip Control, which allows 5 distinct grip modes for the best traction – if you choose to go off the beaten path.
