The wait is nearly over as Perodua has just officially announced the specs of the all-new D27A 2022 Perodua Alza along with bookings.

With three variants offered, the Malaysian twin to the Toyota Veloz/Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia is more jammed-packed compared to its predecessor. It also seems that Perodua is keeping the Alza name after all with a cool, 80’s rockstar-style font for its badge.

The three variants are the base X, the middle-spec H, and the top-of-the-line AV. All three are powered by a 1.5-litre engine that is paired to a D-CVT automatic. Perodua claims the 7-seater has a fuel consumption of 22 km/L (4.55 L/100 km) with ECO Idle system turned on.

The all-new Alza also has a luggage capacity of 137 litres with all 7 seats up but that is increased to a whopping 498 litres with the third-row seats folded.

Standard features on all three variants are LED headlights, digital front A/C, manual rear A/C, 6 airbags and Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) which features:

• Pre-Collision Warning
• Pre-Collision Assist Brake (for vehicle and pedestrian)
• Mis-pedal Operation Control
• Front Departure Alert

Being the base model, the X variant seems barebones with an LCD multi-info display (MID), standard audio, manual retractable side mirrors, and only has the basic Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA) pack which includes:

• Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
• Lane Departure Prevention (LDP)
• Rear sensors
• Auto High Beam (AHB)

Moving up to the mid-range H nets you automatic headlights, auto-retractable side mirrors, a 7” TFT display, a 9” audio display infotainment, and enhanced PSDA features including:

• Reverse camera
• Front sensors
• Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB)

The top-of-the-range AV comes loaded with the full PSDA pack which features:

• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
• Lane Keep Control (LKC)
• Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)
• 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
• Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold

Aside from EPB, the AV is also the only variant to be equipped with 2-tone semi-leather seats. The other two variants sport fabric seats instead.

The all-new Alza is available in five colours which are Glittering Silver, Ivory White, Garnet Red, Elegant Black, and Vintage Brown. The latter three are only available on the H and AV variants.

The second-generation Perodua MPV comes with a 5-year warranty and prices are estimated to start from RM 62,000 for the 1.5 X, RM 68,000 for the 1.5 H, and RM 75,000 for the range-topping 1.5 AV.
