Hap Seng Star to host public debut of CKD 2022 Mercedes-AMG A35 this weekend at Pavilion Bukit Jalil

Part of the appeal of driving around in an AMG-fettled vehicle is that people can’t quite tell what’s going on. They’re cars that can appreciate languid drives yet still hold their own on the track – and that’s a privilege that’s gotten easier to own thanks to the introduction of the locally-assembled (CKD) 2022 Mercedes-AMG A35 Sedan.

Being Pekan-assembled means your pathway to AMG ownership is now RM 11k cheaper, as it’s now priced from RM 325,090 (on-the-road without insurance and SST). And it's so new that this weekend will be its first-ever public appearance in Malaysia. Only one place to be then...

That aside, lower prices doesn’t mean it’s a discounted AMG too. In fact you get more for the money – CKD examples add AMG steering wheel buttons and Burmester surround sound system.

Mind you it's not lost any muscle too: you’ll have 306 PS / 400 Nm from the 2.0-litre turbocharged 2.0-litre lump, the quick-shifting 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and 4Matic all-wheel drive system to truly allow you drop a gear and disappear even through corners.

Stopping it then are 350 mm brake rotors at the front with four-piston callipers, and 330 mm rotors behind. AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive dampers are standard fare too.

It’s draped in the full AMG-Line kit with 19-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, a diffuser ‘round the back and two circular exhaust exits. You’ll also get Multibeam LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus.

Keeping you safe are some ADAS features, as the AMG A35 gets Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Tracking Package, Active Parking Assist with 360-degree camera, and Blind Spot Assist.

Plenty can be said here by why stop at reading? Come experience it for yourself as the Mercedes-AMG A35 makes its debut in front of the Malaysian public for the first time at the WapCar Auto Show Exhibition that’s happening this weekend (1- to 3-July 2022) at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

The exhibition will take place at the outdoor piazza of Pavilion Bukit Jalil, and visitors are encouraged to park at Entrance C
