The first 2 units of the new locally-assembled (CKD) 7-seater 2022 Kia Carnival has just arrived in Bukit Jalil, just in time for preparations in setting up the WapCar Auto Show, slated to happen from 1- to 3-July, at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

This new MPV is the first CKD Kia model sold by Dinamikjaya Motor, the new custodian of Kia in Malaysia.

Exterior-wise, the CKD Carnival is nigh-on identical to the imported (CBU) model. The key visual differences are inside.

First among which is the new seating capacity. Two units were spotted, one being a 7-seater model, and the other is an 8-seater model.

As for whether will the 7- / 8-seater variant ditch the CBU 11-seater variant's analogue gauge for a swanky 12.3-inch digital display, come and find out the answer yourself at Pavilion Bukit Jalil this weekend.

Like its CBU brethren, the CKD Kia Carnival is motivated by a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine that does 202 PS and 441 Nm, hooked up to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The WapCar Auto Show Exhibition will take place at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, from Friday to Sunday, 10am to 10 pm.

Apart from Kia, other exhibitors include Mazda, Peugeot, Honda, Toyota, and Mercedes-Benz. Good deals on auto accessories including DDPai dashcams, Trapo car hygiene products, IGL Coatings paint protection, Karcher car wash products, custom-made DK Schweizer leather upholstery, and Harman’s Infinity audio systems, will also be available.

The event will take place at the piazza area of Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Visitors are encouraged to register online here to redeem a free door gift. The nearest covered parking to the exhibition area is Car Park Entrance C, just before the slip road to exit the main road into Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
