The Haval H6 continues to show its safety prowess with two more variants bagging 5-Star ratings at the Australasia New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP). Previously, it was the Haval H6 petrol variant, this time it is the Haval H6 Hybrid’s turn to nab the perfect scoring.

On top of the usual evaluation, the hybrid variant of the H6 is subjected to additional tests designed to confirm the integrity of the battery and the safety of high voltage electrical systems.

Other than that, like the petrol variants, the H6 Hybrid also scored 90 percent in adult occupancy protection while child occupant protection is recorded at 88 percent. For the vulnerable road user protection, the H6 scored 73 percent while safety assist tests were recorded at 81 percent.

The H6 Hybrid also comes with a complete ADAS such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian cyclist and crossroads detection, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection and lane-change assist, forward-collision warning, and traffic sign recognition.

The Haval H6 Hybrid is currently on sale in Thailand from THB 1,149,000 (~RM 142,000). The hybrid is the most expensive variant in the H6 range in the land of smiles.

Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that works with a 130 kW electric motor. Combined, the engine produces 243 PS and 530 Nm. The engine is mated to a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) that sends power to the front wheels.

Great Wall Motor (GWM), Haval’s parent company, only just made its official return to Malaysia. During the launch, the company stated its intention to launch hybrids (HEV) in the country, so it will only be a matter of time before we will get to see the H6 Hybrid in the metal!
