The Tesla Model Y has made its official debut in Singapore. Prices (with EV incentives, excluding COE) start from SGD 142,471 (around RM 449k) for the rear-wheel drive variant and SGD 190,195 (around RM 559k) for the Performance variant.
To recap, the Tesla Model Y is an SUV version of the Model 3, sharing many of the same components (reportedly around 75 percent) but with more space and practicality. It also fills in the segment below the larger Model X, though the Model X is yet to be available in Singapore.
Equipment wise, the standard RWD Model Y gets 19-inch Gemini Wheels, panoramic glass roof, 15-inch touchscreen that controls all of the car’s functions, and dual wire charging docks for mobile devices.
The Model Y Performance gets 21-inch Überturbine Wheels, performance brakes, lowered suspension, and aluminium pedals.
Buyers can opt for the Enhanced Autopilot feature (available to purchase anytime post-delivery in the Tesla app for SGD 5,800), which adds Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Autopark, Summon, and Smart Summon.
In terms of range and performance, the RWD Model Y has a WLTP range of 455 km and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, while top speed is claimed at 217 km/h.
The Model Y Performance on the other hand, does 514 km in a WLTP cycle and completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.7 seconds (with first foot of rollout subtracted). Top speed is also gained over the RWD variant, at 250 km/h.

As for charging times, both variants are capable of 11 kW AC charging and 250 kW DC fast charging (with Tesla’s Supercharger) that allows a 10 to 80 percent charge in around 20 minutes. With AC charging, it takes about 7 hours to juice up the RWD Model Y’s 70 kWh battery, and around 8 hours for the Model Y Performance’s 90 kWh battery.
According to Tesla’s website, deliveries in Singapore is estimated to commence in late-2022.
