Basic information of my car:

ISUZU DMAX 1.9 4X4 TYPE B (2020)

Reasons why I bought this car

Working purposes as i need a truck for my business and also can be use as daily driver to take my family out

Need a truck that heavy duty that can carry heavy load everday without any problems

Need a truck that no so high in term of maintanance cost

Car Selection Process

I had a budget of: In a range of RM110000

Models that I’ve considered included : MITSUBSHI TRITON, TOYOTA HILUX, NISSAN NAVARA

Reasons why I chose this car

The engine is realiable as isuzu dmax can be consider an elite in pickup truck division same as toyota hilux

engine cc is small so can save some money in term of road tax

cabin quality simple and good enough for working purposes

fuel economy quite good not so thirsty like the 3.0 version

User experience

  • I have already done 60000km.
  • My average fuel consumption is 10L/100km

love the truck as it serve the purposes for working vehicles.

performance wise not up par with hilux or triton but still good enough for every day jobs and taking family out for dinner

not a looker but get the job done

service cost consider quite cheap as i usually go to service centre

definately can handle potholes and rough surface

Pros of my car:

  • cheap road tax
  • cheap service cost
  • heavy duty truck that can handle any rough condition
  • quite fuel efficent for a pickup truck
  • not that noisy inside the cabin while driving

Cons of my car:

  • back seat a bit upright
  • on corners dont expect it to work like a sports car
  • no rear vent air cond
  • design wise can be a bit better but the new isuzu dmax already a looker

Ratings:

Total Score: 4

Performance: 5

Quality & Features: 4

Space: 4

Ride Comfort: 3

Fuel Economy: 5

Price & Cost: 5

Summary :

Isuzu dmax is an underdog in pickup truck division as it is usually overshadowed by the famous 'hailak' but all thing considered, go for if you want a hassle free workhorse pickup truck that serve it purposes.

Last:

I usually use my pickup truck to carry different kind of load from fresh veggies, durians and even palm fruit with original suspensions!!
