51k bookings of 2022 Perodua Alza in 3 months; production to increase to meet demands, so shorter wait times?

Nothing else this year will scale the sales heights as high and as quickly as the 2022 Perodua Alza has – as of the company's August sales announcement, 51,000 units of the 7-seater have been booked thus far.
It's a monumental result considering the MPV's only been open for booking a little under three months ago (23-June), and even before it was launched on 20-July the order books were 30,000-unit strong.

Deliveries for the Alza has been picking up pace too, with 7,682 units registered in July and August. However, the Rawang outfit is looking to increase its production capacity, especially for the Alza to cater for the strong demand.
At present, Perodua is producing 3,500 Alzas per month, which already exceeds their initial target of 3,000 units monthly. Further ramping up production capacity is welcome news; this should slightly alleviate the up-to-12 months waiting period customers currently face.

Total bookings for the company thus far – including August sales leader the Perodua Bezza, and staples like the Myvi and Axia– stands at circa 250,000 units, according to a RHB research report.
2022 Perodua Alza review in Malaysia
The 2022 Perodua Alza is the company's most advanced vehicle yet, with lots of Perodua-first features that you can read about here. Prices for the range starts from RM 62,500 (1.5 X), RM 68,000 (1.5 H), and RM 75,000 (1.5 AV).
All powered by the 2NR-VE 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated mill (106 PS/138 Nm) that's paired to a D-CVT transmission, the new Alza brings with it a host of value-added features including a comprehensive ADAS suite, nifty folding seats, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
At these prices, it competes in a playing field that includes the Honda BR-V (we're yet to receive the all-new model already available in Thailand and Indonesia) and Mitsubishi Xpander. There's also its platform mate, the RM 95k 2022 Toyota Veloz to think about too.
