Our colleague, Zamil, who’s also an avid drifter just collected his brand new 2022 Perodua Alza 1.5 AV. 

Practicality, comfortability and reliability were the three things Zamil was looking for to replace his 30-year-old daily driver. During Zamil and the team’s drive to Kota Bharu, he was immediately sold as it checked all of these boxes and more.

The Alza is doing really well with 51,000 units booked as of August and this is all done within 3 months after it was opened for booking.

The Alza is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2NR-VE 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that does 106 PS with 138 Nm. The new 2NR-VE Dual VVT-i engine replaces the previous generation Alza’s 3SZ-VE DVVT engine.

Transmission is also new, ditching the old 4-speed torque converter automatic and replaced by the newer Dual-mode CVT (D-CVT), which is the same one found on the Perodua Ativa.
