Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has previewed the all-electric (EV) Volkswagen ID.4 in Malaysia at the VW Fest 2022. Note that the units on display are test units and may not be reflective of the specifications we'll be getting.
Only one variant will be available – the Pro Performance, though price is yet to be announced.
Specs wise, the Volkswagen ID.4 gets a rear-mounted motor with 204 PS/310 Nm. 0-100 km/h is completed in 8.5 seconds.
Driving range in the WLTP cycle is up to 519 km from the 77-kWh battery pack.
In terms of charging, the ID.4 accepts up to 11 kW AC charging, while DC fast charging is rated at 125 kW, which takes about 38 minutes to get from 5 to 80 percent state of charge (SoC).
On the outside, the ID.4 wears 19-inch wheels wrapped in staggered tyre sizes - 255/50 R19 rubbers at the rear, 235/55 R19 at the front.
It gets LED matrix headlamps, 3D LED rear combination lamps with dynamic turn signal, Dynamic Light Assist, and Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC).
Inside, there’s a 3-zone automatic climate control system, wireless charging, pedals in stainless steel with play/pause symbols, surround lighting with welcome light, and 10-inch Discover Pro infotainment display with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity.
As for safety, there’s a full suite of ADAS with Auto Emergency Braking Front Assist (AEB) with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, Side Assist with lane change system, and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Stop & Go.
There’s also 360-degree view camera and Park Assist plus with memory feature.
The Volkswagen ID.4 is currently on display at the VW Fest 2022, happening this weekend (15- to 16-October) in Sentul Depot, KL. Visitors can also enjoy a range of live performances and test drive Volkswagen’s range of models.
