W206 2022 Mercedes-Benz C350e PHEV launched in Thailand, price equals to RM 425k

Mercedes-Benz Thailand has launched the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of the W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the C350e. It comes in the AMG Dynamic trim, priced at 3,350,000 Baht (around RM 425k).

Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 204 PS/320 Nm on its own. An electric motor boosts total output to 313 PS/550 Nm, sent to the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.

It gets a 25.4-kWh battery that is claimed to achieve up to 100 km of pure electric driving range (WLTP), reaching speeds of up to 140 km/h.

Unlike typical PHEVs, the C350e accepts DC fast charging (via CCS Combo 2 connector) at a maximum rate of 50 kW, while AC charging is rated at 11 kW.

Exterior wise, it wears the more aggressive AMG Dynamic outfit with 18-inch AMG 5 twin-spoke wheels. It gets Digital Light headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus function, which is able to individually control the LEDs to match the road situation.

Standard features include the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment system that runs on MBUX. Apple CarPlay/Android connectivity is supported, while audio is channelled through the Burmester sound system. There’s also wireless charging and 64-colour ambient lighting.

In terms of advanced safety features, there’s Active Brake Assist (AEB), Active Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Blind Spot Assist, and Active Distance Assist Distronic (ACC).

In Malaysia, the CKD 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is currently offered in two variants – the C200 Avantgarde and C300 AMG Line, priced at RM 287,888 and RM 327,888 respectively. Will the PHEV variant join the C-Class line-up in Malaysia? Only time will tell.
