The Mazda CX-50 has been introduced in China. The model will be locally assembled (CKD) in the Changan Mazda joint-venture manufacturing facilities in Nanjing.
In terms of powertrain, the Mazda CX-50 in China will be equipped with the naturally aspirated SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre petrol engines, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5-litre engine gets cylinder deactivation technology for improved fuel consumption.
In the coming years, the CX-50 will also be offered with electrified powertrains, including a traditional hybrid model, to be revealed at a later date.
Wu Xuxi, Executive Deputy Manager of Changan Mazda Automobile Sales Branch, also announced at the launch conference that the Mazda CX-90 will be introduced in China in 2023.
Prices and further details have yet to be revealed, though production of the Mazda CX-50 at the Changan Mazda facilities has already begun and is expected go on sale in early 2023.
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
