2023 BMW 330Li and M340i facelift (LCI) launching in Malaysia in March

At the launch of the 2023 BMW 3 Series (G20) facelift (LCI), BMW Malaysia also confirmed that two additional variants will be added to the line-up – the long wheelbase 330 Li and M340i.

Currently, all variants of the G20 BMW 3 Series LCI are in the M Sport guise; the 320i and 330i are on passive M Sport suspension while the 330e is on adaptive M Sport suspension.

For the 330 Li, BMW Malaysia hinted that it could have a more comfort-biased setup as the pre-facelift did with the comfort suspension.

In terms of the trim package, it remains to be seen if the BMW 330 Li will get the same M Sport treatment.

Powertrain is expected to be unchanged, with the B48 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 258 PS/400 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that spins the rear wheels.

As for the M340i, it gets a 48V mild-hybrid B58 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine with 374 PS/500 Nm (figure for overseas market, which is curiously lower than before with 387 PS) mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the outside, the M340i is identifiable by the mesh kidney grille and trapezoidal tailpipe.

For now, the G20 BMW 3 Series LCI in Malaysia is offered in three variants:

  • 320i M Sport - RM 283,800
  • 330e M Sport - RM 298,800
  • 330i M Sport - RM 317,800
