New CKD long wheelbase 2023 BMW 330Li M Sport LCI and 6-cylinder AWD M340i xDrive launched in Malaysia

Three months after the launch of the new facelifted (LCI) G20 generation 2023 BMW 3 Series, BMW Malaysia has now announced the prices for the remaining two variants of the new updated 3 Series โ€“ 330Li and M340i.

The full range of the new 2023 BMW 3 Series are as follows.

  • BMW 320i M Sport: RM 283,800
  • BMW 330e M Sport: RM 298,800
  • BMW 330i M Sport: RM 317,800
  • BMW 330Li M Sport: RM 325,800
  • BMW M340i xDrive M Sport: RM 391,800
  • BMW M340i xDrive M Sport Pro: RM 396,800 (online available via online booking)

All prices listed above are inclusive of a 5-year extended warranty and service package.

All variants are locally assembled (CKD) at BMW Group Malaysiaโ€™s plant in Kulim, within the Inokom automotive manufacturing campus.

The 330Li M Sportโ€™s wheelbase is 110 mm longer than a standard wheelbase 330i M Sport. Despite the M Sport name, the 330Li M Sport comes with comfort suspension.

Like other lower range variants of the 3 Series, the 330Li is powered by a B48 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

The more powerful 6-cylinder all-wheel drive M340i makes 387 PS and 500 Nm from its 3.0-litre B58 6-cylinder engine, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission - the same powertrain driving the Toyota GR Supra, except that this CKD BMW is a lot cheaper.

It rides on adaptive M Sport suspension, benefitting from M Sport Differential and Variable Sport Steering.

The Pro variant of the M340i adds a different colour 19-inch M Sport wheels โ€“ BMW calls it 792 M Bicolour Jet Black versus a regular M340iโ€™s 791 M Bicolour.

Other additional styling bits include M lights Shadowline, M Sport brake callipers in High-Gloss Red, M High-gloss Shadow Line with extended contents, including kidney grille frame and slats in High-Gloss Black and M Rear Spoiler in Black Sapphire.

The new BMW M340i xDrive M Sport Pro will be available exclusively online with a pre-booking fee of RM3,000. Deliveries can be expected to commence in August 2023.

Thereโ€™s still no adaptive cruise control for all BMW 3 Series variants.

Whatโ€™s available are lane departure warning with steering intervention, front collision warning with brake intervention, rear cross-traffic warning with brake intervention.
