6-month moratorium extension and RM 6b fuel subsidy announced in Pemulih aid package

In a press conference today, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the government has decided to extend the loan moratorium for another 6 six months. Other than that, they will also continue to subsidise the RON 95 petrol and diesel. 

The 6-month loan moratorium is an automatic opt-in this time and applies for individual borrowers, regardless if they are from the B40, M40, or T20 income bracket, as well as micro-entrepreneurs.

Although it is an automatic extension, Muhyiddin is quick to point out that those who would like to opt-in are required to apply with their respective banks. But approval will be given automatically.

Applications will open from 7-July-2021.

Other than that, the Prime Minister has also announced that they will continue to maintain the price of RON 95 petrol, diesel, and LPG with a RM 6 billion subsidy plan for this year.
