Proton has kicked off the final quarter of 2019 on a high with a record 9,503 in sales. This brings the number of sales in 10 months of 2019 to 79,833 units both export and domestically.

The successful sales volume meant that the brand saw a growth rate of 46% year-to-date.

This is a remarkable achievement for Proton considering that the Total Industry-Volume (TIV) has shrunk by 1.3%.

This puts Proton's market shares of the year at 16% which is a healthy increase of 5.2% over the previous year.

With 79,833 units sold as of October, Proton has sealed the deal as the second best selling car brand in Malaysia.

Proton is also confident that they would break pass the 100,000 unit mark by the end of the year which is a huge motivation for the brand going into 2020.

The Proton X70 leads the sales pack with over 24,000 units delivered thus far. This puts the SUV at the top of SUV sales ranking making the SUV Malaysia’s fastest selling C-segment SUV.

Proton’s oldest model, the Saga, still remains as a popular model. Since the launch in August 2019, the Saga has seen over 28,000 bookings in October. This is the model’s highest sales figure in over 4 years.

Furthermore, the Iriz, Exora and Persona has also seen an increase in sales as a whole. The trio along with the Saga saw a 21% increase in sale thus far in 2019.

The 4 models accounted for 78% of Proton’s total sales in October and 68% for the whole year.
