Daihatsu has put an unnamed SUV on display at the ongoing 2019 Tokyo Motor Show and we believe this could very well be Perodua’s next SUV after the Aruz.
Despite being an unnamed model, Daihatsu was gracious enough to provide the vital stats, including power output and dimensions.
Power comes from a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 98 PS and 140 Nm, mated to a CVT-type automatic. Power is sent to the front wheels.
The table below should give you a good idea of the Daihatsu's dimensions, and further cements the fact that this is a B-segment SUV.
Towards the sides, this little Daihatsu gets dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped in 195/60 R17 tires, fender flares, and chrome door handles.
Drawing its inspiration from the Daihatsu DN Trec Concept, this yet-to-be-named SUV features a pair of LED headlights surrounding a trapezoid-shaped front grille. This SUV also gets angular shaped front fog light surrounds and horizontal LED daytime running lights.
As for the rear, you’ll be forgiven for mistaking this for the Perodua Myvi, as the Daihatsu looks remarkably like one, albeit with some crossover kit slapped on.
Inside, the Daihatsu gets a host of equipment; we spotted buttons and switches indicating that this particular car has auto start stop, front parking sensors, autonomous emergency braking, heated seats, 360-degree camera, and voice command.
Closer to home, we understand that Perodua is currently developing a new B-segment SUV, codenamed D55L. If the Daihatsu here is any indication of Perodua's upcoming model, we're definitely interested to see what Perodua has in store!
