Honda might be bringing the Integra nameplate back, sort of. The Honda Integra was last sold in 2006, 14 years ago.

Based on the (purported) leaked image from Acurazine shows, Honda's Acura division will be introducing a "New Compact Sedan" for the US market, due in 2022.

Some sources say that the New Compact Sedan will go on sale in the US wearing the Integra nameplate, but wait...it's not what you think.

Just like the Honda City of the 80's has no relation to the current Honda City, and the '90s Honda Integra borrowed the name from a Honda motorcycle, don't expect this new generation Integra, assuming the rumours are true, to have any relation to the legendary DC2 model.

Could Honda/Acura be hinting at a spiritual successor to revive the Integra name as a new sports sedan? Maybe, but the bigger question is won't the Acura Integra stand out like an odd one among Acura's three-letter naming convention models?
