The Mazda 3 Touring Car Racing (TCR) is the latest addition to Mazda’s motorsports program, which will hit the racetrack in 2020.
Information on specifications are scarce but what we do know is that power comes from a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, making 350 horses mated to a 6-speed transmission with paddle shifters.
The designers have spent countless hours to ensure that the Mazda 3 TCR is compliant with all TCR regulations and flows with the smooth lines on the Mazda 3, retaining the signature Kodo design language.

The Mazda 3 TCR is homologated to compete in any of the 36 TCR-sanctioned championships around the globe.
“The Mazda 3 features the outstanding design and engineering that Mazda is known for, and because of that, it is a fantastic foundation for our new Mazda 3 TCR.” said John Doonan, Director of Mazda Motorsports.
“TCR represents a great opportunity for us to showcase the new Mazda 3 and provide our customers another avenue to race Mazda vehicles,” said Masahiro Moro, Chairman and CEO of Mazda North American Operations.

This makes us excited for future Mazda models indeed. We are hoping for a new Mazda 3 MPS of course. Fingers crossed.
