The facelifted 2020 Toyota Fortuner was caught undisguised on the streets of Thailand. The images were hazy at best but least it gives an overall impression of the exterior design. Nikita Chuyko has taken that impression and expressed it in renderings which are published by kolesa.ru.

As seen in the rendering, the headlamps and bumper design are more angular and the front grille is slimmer. Personally, it actually looks like it was styled by Perodua which means Malaysians will adore it.

Changes at the rear are more subtle. The most obvious change is the new bumper that houses a pair of long L-shaped reflectors. Other noteworthy changes are the two-tone exterior with blacked out roof, although it may be trim level dependent.

While the rendering shows the same wheel design as the pre-facelift Fortuner, the spy shots suggest otherwise. The facelifed Fortuner will likely feature new wheel designs.

Powertrain options are expected to be carried over. Currently, UMW Toyota Motor offers 3 variants with 2 powertrain options, a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine.

It is reported that the 2020 Toyota Fortuner facelift will be launched in Thailand sometime in 2020, depending on the Covid-19 situation. Expect the Malaysian debut to be in late 2020 or early 2021.
