Hyundai Motor has unveiled the new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe to the world. The SUV’s new sporty looks clearly continues on with Hyundai’s play with lights on the newly launched Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Elantra.

At the front, the Santa Fe now features a grille that dominates the entire front-end. Though the diamond shape grille is the main feature, it is the headlights that merge smoothly with the grille and the newly designed DRLs that catches the eye.

As previously teased, the Santa Fe will feature new striking DRLs shape that bears massive resemblance to the Thor hammer headlights of a certain Swedish brand. We like to think it is shaped like a Keris instead.

From the side, Hyundai designers have increased the wheel arches to accentuate the SUV’s new stylish 20-inch wheels. The wheels are laid out in a star shape multispoke design.

The rear-end is what sparked the most interest every time the SUV was spotted testing on the road. The speculations that the Santa Fe’s new tail light is connected across the rear hatch were proven true.

And like we have mentioned, the strip is not just for display purposes but a working illuminated bar. Like the front, Hyundai designers played up the horizontal design theme that stretches across the width of the car.

Two different styles of grilles for the Hyundai Santa Fe

As you know, though this is just a facelift, Hyundai has completely redesigned the SUV from the ground up to fit the new hybrid powertrains.

Though the focus of the rebuild is on the hybrid powertrain, Hyundai has managed to squeeze out even more space in the Santa Fe’s interior than the pre-facelift.

So not only does the new interior provides more space, it promises more comfort and convenience compared to the previous model. Hyundai has also made sure that all buttons in the new Santa Fe are ergonomically placed for the best convenience.

The Santa Fe also sports a new shift-by-wire gear shift, the new gear shift is probably applicable for the hybrid engines that the Santa Fe was rebuilt to accommodate. But we wouldn’t rule out that it will come with the petrol and diesel engine options as well.

Other new features in the interior include a new Terrain Mode selector to allow drivers to fully optimise the Santa Fe’s HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) settings and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display.
