After numerous spy shots and leaked images all around the internet, It looks like the Nissan Kicks e-Power is ready for official Thailand debut on the 15th May 2020, based on the Facebook video post by Nissan Thailand.

To recap, the Nissan Kicks e-Power will be powered by a 1.2-litre HR12DE 3-cylinder petrol engine with 79 PS and 103 Nm which doesn't drive the wheels but works as a generator for powering the EM57 electric motor, culminating in a total output of 129 PS and 254 Nm of torque.

A direct rival to the Honda HR-V, the Kicks is 4,384 mm long and 1,813 mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2,673mm. Compared to the HR-V, it’s 90 mm longer, 41 mm wider and 63 mm longer between the wheel. The boot space is plenty impressive too, almost mirroring the HR-V.

The Nissan Kicks e-Power is also a direct competitor to the upcoming Proton X50.

The question is, when will it come to our shore? The original plan was to have the Kicks here after the introduction of the all-new Nissan Almera, but since that hasn't materialize, probably due to poor economic climate, we think the Kicks, if it's still in the plans for Malaysia, will only be introduced here in 2021.
