With just 5 km on the odometer on this Toyota Raize, it is possible that one very unlucky owner got rear-ended just after taking delivery.

These crashed photos of the Toyota Raize were shared by Twitter use @taku531531, which shows the B-segment SUV with a crushed front and rear end.

Judging from the photos, the frontal impact was severe enough to deploy both front airbags.

Furthermore, the rear end also sustained some damage, though the severity of the damage is unknown.

While the damage may appear severe enough to have the car written off in Japan, any workshop with a chassis alignment jig could straighten the Raize’s chassis without much effort.

With that said, if you're in the market for a reconditioned car, be sure to obtain the car's Japanese auction report, as this can shed some light on the car's pre-existing condition when it left Japan, as well as its actual year of manufacture and mileage on the odometer. 

To recap, the Toyota Raize (and its Daihatsu Rocky twin) is a B-segment SUV that was introduced in Japan last year. 

It’s just slightly bigger than a Perodua Myvi (100 mm longer but 40 mm narrower). However when viewed in person, the car doesn't appear to be that small. It's an illusion given by the 17-inch wheels, wide wheel arches and SUV-style stance, which makes the car looks bigger than it actually is.

Closer to home, Perodua is expected to introduce the D55L later this year, which will be Perodua's version of the Raize.
