Toyota Harrier has been in high demand since its introduction in Malaysia in January this year. Up to now, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has delivered over 500 units to customers throughout Malaysia, but the need is still very high and the waiting period has reportedly risen to over a year according to sources familiar with the matter.

Since been corporated with Toyota Motor Corporation, UMW Toyota aims to increase the supply of the Harrier SUVs from the production lines in Japan. Hence the customers don't need to wait that long.

Mr. Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor added, “We understand that our customers had to wait for a longer period to get delivery of their vehicle. The global demand for the Harrier has been great right from the start and for Malaysia, it surged further during the three months of the (GST) tax break. The production in Japan is now able to supply more to suit the demand and we will have more vehicles available for delivery,”
