Watch: Police arrests man trying to flee after caught riding dangerously

The video recording the scene of a policeman falling off his motorbike in a rush to stop his partner from kicking a suspect helplessly sitting on a fallen bike has gone viral is just hours.
But before you judge the policeman for getting physical, know that PDRM has already released a statement regarding the incident.
The Head of Police Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim stated that the two policemen first tried to stop the suspects when they were caught speeding along Jalan Genting Klang heading towards Jalan Ampang.
Both suspects had refused to stop and tried to make a run for it. They were even said to have driven against traffic and endangering the lives of other road users. The policemen gave chased until one of the suspects fell off his motorcycle.
PDRM claims that the policeman only got physical when the suspects started getting aggressive and a tussle had ensued. Unfortunately, they only managed to arrest one of the suspects as the other escaped by jumping into a big drain by the road.
Mazlan noted that the arrested suspect has a previous criminal record of driving under influence (DUI) and is even wanted for burglary on a home in Ampang.
The case is now investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code and will carry a jail penalty of 2 years or a fine of up to RM 10,000 or both.
Mazlan also reported that the suspect’s urine tested positive of syabu. The case is also being investigated under Section 15 (1) (A) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The suspect has been remanded for until 5 June while more investigations are carried out.
