By now, everybody knows or has heard of Abang Viva, the volunteer who wades into the thick of flood areas to help flood victims. Abang Viva, real name Azwan Omar, and his Mitsubishi Triton were reportedly seen helping flood victims in Baling, Kedah.
According to Malaysia Gazette, Azwan and three other friends arrived at Iboi Village, one of the worst-hit areas of the flood in Baling, on Tuesday. By then, water levels have already started receding and most of the victims have been transferred to the temporary shelter.

Even though Abang Viva arrived at a time when there were no victims to evacuate, he and his team stayed to offer help where needed such as helping victims clean up their homes.
Like before, Abang Viva’s arrival was happily received by the people of Baling. What tickled the people more was the new ‘Abang Viva’ sticker he had emblazoned on his Triton’s door.
Azwan first went viral during the flood in Taman Sri Muda last year. The volunteer drove from Melaka to Shah Alam in his old Perodua Viva with a small boat he attached to the roof of the car just to offer help to victims in the Klang Valley.
His sincere efforts and intentions to help flood victims touched the heart of so many and he even caught the attention of a cosmetic entrepreneur. It was the cosmetic entrepreneur who offered to help him upgrade his Viva to the Mitsubishi Triton that he is currently utilising.
