With the launch happening sooner than later, Perodua has just opened bookings for the highly-anticipated 2021 Perodua D55L.
While full specifications of the Perodua D55L remains under wraps, Perodua did tease us with the highlights of the D55L, including its brand-new ASA 3.0 ADAS suite that encompasses features never seen before on a Perodua, such as Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP).

More interestingly is the mention that H and AV variants of the Perodua D55L will be receiving Adaptive Driving Beam – essentially adaptive LED headlights, a first for Perodua. More impressive is that some cars costing two or three times more than the Perodua D55L also don’t have adaptive headlights, making the D55L the cheapest new car to offer such a feature.
Adaptive Driving Beam utilizes both software and sensors to detect other oncoming vehicles and is able to turn off individual LEDs in an effort to prevent glare. That’s some fancy stuff right there.
The Perodua D55L's donor cars, the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize duo, also offer Adaptive Driving Beam.
Apart from its fancy headlights and ASA 3.0 ADAS suite, the Perodua D55L also gets a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. Perodua did not disclose power figures of the D55L, but the Japanese donor cars, the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize, output 98 PS and 140 Nm. The sole transmission option for the D55L is a CVT-type automatic that sends drive to the front wheels.

All variants of the Perodua D55L come with Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, while the AV varaint adds Lane Keep Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) to the mix.
Expected to be priced between RM 62,500 to RM 73,400, the Perodua D55L is set to be Perodua flagship model when it goes on sale.
