Following its pre-booking announcement last month, Honda Thailand has officially launched the new 2024 Honda HR-V facelift, introducing a refreshed design and additional features while largely maintaining prices from the pre-facelift model.
As before, three variants are on offer in the Kingdom, priced are as follows:
- e:HEV E: THB 949,000 (~RM 126,000) – pre-facelift price THB 979k
- e:HEV EL: THB 1,079,000 (~RM 143,000) – same price
- e:HEV RS: THB 1,179,000 (~RM 156,000) – same price
Under the hood, the facelifted HR-V continues to feature Honda’s 1.5-liter e:HEV two-motor full hybrid powertrain which produces 131 PS and 253 Nm of torque, aided by a 106 PS/127 Nm naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine. Power is sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT transmission.
Claimed fuel figures are 25.6 km per litre. The RS model additionally gets variable-ratio steering.
Exterior updates
All variants of the new HR-V facelift sport a refreshed front design, featuring a new grille that gives each model a unique look. The RS model stands out with a sporty chrome grille, while the E and EL variants adopt a colour-matched grille.
Additionally, the RS model gains stylish Full LED Smoke-colored tail lights, 18-inch Berlina Black diamond cut alloy wheels, and exclusive two-tone colour options.
The new Khaki Sand (Pearl) paint with a black roof is available for the EL and RS, while the Ignite Red (Metallic) with a black roof is exclusive to the RS.
Interior Upgrades
On the inside, the facelifted HR-V offers a modernized cabin with added functionality. A redesigned centre console with split-level storage compartments is now standard across all variants, providing enhanced usability.
All models come equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Siri voice commands. The USB configuration has been updated, with 3 USB Type-C ports (1 front, 2 rear) and 1 USB Type-A port in the front.
The E model also receives rear air-conditioning vents and a total of six speakers. In addition, the EL variant now features an 8-way power driver’s seat and a wireless charger, while both EL and E models finally include dual front sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors.
New Honda Sensing features
As before, the Honda’s Sensing ADAS suite is standard across all facelifted HR-V variants.
Notably, the RS model now gains an Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB), Active Cornering Lights (ACL), and 4 rear distance sensors.
All models are equipped with Hill Descent Control (HDC), Electric Parking Brake, Auto Brake Hold, and Blind Spot Monitoring (Honda LaneWatch is available on the EL and RS variants).
Closer to home, the facelifted 2024 HR-V is expected to arrive in Malaysia sometime next year. For now, the pre-facelift HR-V is offered in four variants at the following prices:
- 1.5L S: RM 115,900
- 1.5L E: RM 130,900
- 1.5L V: RM 135,900
- 1.5L e:HEV RS: RM 141,900
