The 2020 Audi A3 Sportback is launched in Europe following the second generation A3 Sedan. This is the fourth iteration of the A3 hatchback following its introduction back in 1996.

Compared to the last generation, the A3 Sportback has grown 30 mm in length to 4340 mm while the height and wheelbase remain unchanged at 1430 mm and 2640 mm respectively.

The creases seen on the A3 Sedan are also shared with the Sportback with the lines accentuating a sportier style than the sedan.

The Matrix LED daytime running lights (DRLs) are also available only with the range-topping variants of the A3 Sportback which are controlled intelligently to provide less glare.

Inside, the A3 Sportback comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster as standard. A head-up display comes as an option.

Now, we come to the engines and there are 6 offered for the A3 Sportback with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT available across most variants.

A mild-hybrid system is offered for the A3 Sportback 35 TFSI MHEV which is powered by a 1.5-litre engine that produces 150 PS and 250 Nm. This is mated to a 7-speed DCT that uses a 48V starter generator for greater fuel efficiency.
