Order books for the all-new fifth-generation 2020 Honda City were opened back on 14 August 2020 and as of 12 October 2020, Honda Malaysia has received 5,000 bookings! Majority of these bookings are for the V variant.
“Prior to today’s official world premiere, we opened for bookings and organised a nationwide roadshow tour for the All-New City. I am pleased to inform that as of today, we have received a total of 5,000 bookings. We are extremely humbled by the unwavering support from fellow Malaysians,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Toichi Ishiyama.
At launch, the all-new 2020 Honda City has 3 variants on offer. Prices will start from RM 76,800 for the base S variant, RM 81,665 for the E variant and the V variant is priced at RM 86,561.
To recap, the all-new City will be powered by a new 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 121 PS and 145 Nm. Like the previous generation City, the engine is mated to a CVT.
The new E and V variants will also feature an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Meanwhile, the City RS e:HEV and V variants will get Honda LaneWatch to help monitor blind spots around the car.
Honda has also made Honda Sensing available on the range-topping RS e:HEV, so the City RS will feature safety equipment like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) just to name a few.
