All-new 2020 Honda City RS open for booking in Malaysia, comes with brand-new i-MMD engine!

After a couple of weeks of teaser after teaser, Honda Malaysia has finally dropped the bomb - the all-new 2020 Honda City RS is open for booking! Yes, you read that right - it’ll have a best-in-class 253 Nm!

Malaysians are also the first to get this all-new model as this is the world premiere of the hybrid City in this spec! The B-segment sedan will be fitted with the new i-MMD powertrain (Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) that replaces the old i-DCD (Intelligent Dual-Clutch Drive).

Power output is rated at 109 PS/253 Nm from the motor and 98 PS/127 Nm from the combustion engine. Honda has yet to release official combined power output numbers, so we will share the number with you as soon as we have it.
Bear in mind that this engine is only available on the RS spec - other variants will receive a new 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine, replacing the previous SOHC.

It’s big torque numbers mean it should have a pretty punchy drive. Visually, it’s pretty much about the same as we’ve seen in the Thailand-spec car - expect LED head and tail lights and 16-inch wheels.
The V and RS variants will also come with Honda LaneWatch technology and electric parking brake (EPB), the first in its segment.
Prices will be announced at a later date, but Honda has already opened bookings for the all-new City. There’s also a special RM 1,000 Service Voucher for early-bird buyers.
