To call the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V the most anticipated model in Malaysia might be a bit of an understatement as the upcoming B-segment crossover is expected to have a long waiting list.
Though bookings have been opened and a few previews were made at selected dealers, Honda Malaysia has yet to announce a launch date for the third-gen HR-V but these photos might clue in to how near that would be.
A few units have been spotted on car transporters nationwide that might be on the way to dealers. These photos were circulated around social media and they mostly showed the hybrid RS variant (in the hero red colour, no less) being loaded up.
The RS e:HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre i-MMD petrol-electric hybrid engine (131 PS/253 Nm) that is also found in the Honda City RS and City Hatchback RS.
Aside from the petrol-hybrid, the all-new HR-V will also be equipped with a choice of two 1.5-litre petrol powerplants – a naturally-aspirated unit that makes 121 PS/145 Nm or a turbocharged one that produces 177 PS/240 Nm.
Apart from the new, sportier looks, the all-new HR-V is also going to be feature-packed with Honda Sensing ADAS suite to be available as standard across the line-up.
With all these enhancements, you can also expect the all-new HR-V to be pricier than the outgoing model. While the previous-gen (RU) is priced between RM 104,000 to RM 118,854, we expect the all-new RV generation’s prices to increase by around 5 to 10 percent depending on the variant.
