The grayscale object you see above may very well be the world's inaugural clear peek at the all-new, 2023Honda CR-V.
Our first look at the upcoming CR-V is – like most recent Hondas over the last couple of years – through a patent filing, uncovered by Vanhoe Rage. You may recall the Malaysia-bound 2022 Honda HR-V and BR-V were also revealed in the same way.
Back to the matter at hand: this sole image affords us a better look at the SUV, and comparing it against previously-spied units lend credence as to this being the CR-V, especially in the shape of its grille and headlights.
Though we previously theorised that the spotted SUV could also be the American-spec HR-V (one that's different from the global model), that possibility can be safely discounted now as Honda themselves have given us a glimpse of what the HR-V will look like, and it's nothing like this patent model.
Details of the next-gen Honda CR-V still remain secrets though. For the time being, the current-gen CR-V is still sold in Malaysia, with prices ranging from RM 139,912.53 (2.0 2WD) to RM 162,910.18 (1.5 TC-P 4WD).
