Order books for the all-new (AC100) 2023 Toyota Vios are now open in Malaysia. According to the price list shared by dealers, the 2023 Toyota Vios' estimated price starts from RM 90,000 to RM 96,000 for the 1.5E and 1.5G variant respectively.

Like its predecessor, the 2023 Toyota Vios will be locally assembled (CKD) at the Bukit Raja plant.

As seen from the now-deleted Instagram post by local entertainment personality Sean Lee, the Malaysian-spec 2023 Toyota Vios will wear the 17-inch wheels that’s fitted on the Indonesian market Vios.

The ‘hero’ colour for this 2023 Toyota Vios is Spicy Scarlet Red, which has a deeper shade than the outgoing model’s Red Mica Metallic (also shared with the Toyota Corolla Cross).

Other colour options include Nebula Blue, Platinum White Pearl, Silver, and Attitude Black Mica.

Now underpinned by the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, our local market 2023 Toyota Vios will feature the 1.5-litre 2NR-VE engine.

Based on the Indonesian-spec Vios, the engine makes 106 PS/138 Nm and is paired to the Dual-Mode CVT (D-CVT) transmission. This powertrain combo is found in the current Perodua Myvi and Perodua Alza.

Standard features include paddle shifters, electric parking brake with auto hold function, rear air-vents (a first for the Vios), 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay (wireless) and Android Auto connectivity, and a 360-degree camera.

The 2023 Toyota Vios will be equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite with:

• Pre-Collision System (PCS)
• Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
• Lane Departure Prevention (LDP)
• Lane Keeping Control (LKC)
• Auto High Beam (AHB)
• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
• Front Departure Alert (FDA)

Meanwhile, Toyota is developing a series-hybrid version of the 2023 Toyota Vios to rival the series-parallel hybrid Honda City e:HEV RS, but this variant is at least one year away from market launch.
