The current second-generation Peugeot 3008 has been on sale since 2016 and just like any vehicle’s lifecycle, a new generation is approaching. Before the French Lion unveils the third generation model, it has revealed the upcoming SUV’s interior.
In the all-new 2024 Peugeot 3008, Peugeot’s trademark i-Cockpit has been given an extensive makeover and is now called the Panoramic i-Cockpit. Making its full debut in September 2023, the 21-inch curved display is mounted high up on the dash.
Still, the dashboard looks clean overall with the large display curved more towards the driver. Also angled heavily to the driver’s side are 10 configurable touch-sensitive buttons which Peugeot calls i-Toggles.
For those more inclined to the traditional buttons and knobs layout, this feels more like a nightmare of form over function to keep the interior uncluttered. Even the gear lever has been moved from where it’s normally placed in the centre console to a little nubbin located near the steering wheel.
But the clean and minimal design helps to free up more storage in the middle with a wireless charging pad placed where the gear lever used to be.
Peugeot seems to be going the same route as Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz by offering additional touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel. Whether this will work in their favour or not would be seen once we get our hands on one.
To literally brighten up the interior, Peugeot would be installing ambient lighting across the dashboard and door panels. There are 8 different colours to choose from which will be reflected on the aluminium trim.
The Panoramic i-Cockpit will eventually make its way to other Peugeot models in the future including the next-gen 5008 which will essentially be similar to the 3008 but with third-row seats. According to Peugeot's press release, the all-new 3008 will be an electric fastback SUV.

Based on spy shots, the next-gen 3008 would have a fastback coupe-like design similar to the Peugeot 408 with a tall stature that resembles that of the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
Back home, the outgoing Peugeot 3008 is locally-assembled (CKD) in Malaysia and is only available in one variant, the 3008 Allure which is priced from RM 170,288.
