Recently we have seen some camouflaged units of the Isuzu D-Max in Malaysia. The all-new Isuzu D-Max is already available in countries like Thailand and Australia, but not yet in Malaysia.
The Isuzu D-Max is a tough truck and its safety is proven by the 5-star Australasian NCAP (ANCAP) rating.
According to the ANCAP test, the Isuzu D-Max scored 83% in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 89% in Child Occupant Protection (COP), 69% in vulnerable user protection, and 84% in safety assist.
The Isuzu D-Max score fairly well in each testing category. They are very comparable to a standard passenger vehicle, like a Kia Sorento or a Land Rover Defender.
The Kia Sorento scores 82% in AOP, 85% in COP, 63% in vulnerable road user protection, and 89% in safety assist.
Besides the Australasian NCAP, the Isuzu D-max has also managed to score 5 stars in the Euro NCAP with 84% in AOP, 86% in COP, 69 in vulnerable road user protection and 83% in safety assist.
According to the ASEAN NCAP ratings, the new Isuzu D-max is the safest pick-up truck, also with a 5-star score. The details of the ASEAN NCAP score can be viewed here.
