If your news feed isn’t flooded with news about the all-new Honda HR-V launching this week, we’re going to hazard a guess it’s filled with every possible detail regarding the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza instead.
With the launch of the Alza just around that corner Perodua sales advisors’ refer to as “Big Bonus Bend,” the carmaker continues with its short teaser clips that’ve become a weekly staple in the build up to the launch.
This time around, Perodua has rightfully chosen to highlight the rear air-conditioning vents because this is a new feature for the Alza, seeing that its predecessor made do without it.
In the new Alza, the rear air-conditioning vents are standard across the range with manual controls for it. Like most vehicles with the feature, the blowers are positioned on the ceiling.
On a sidenote, the previous Alza received an interim fix for this issue in one of its last facelifts by virtue of a fixed central vent on the dashboard that was permanently aimed at the back rows.
Lastly as a quick recap, the new Alza; based on the Toyota Veloz and Daihatsu Xenia, will pack plenty of kit over its predecessor.
There’ll be 3 variants starting with a base X, a mid-tier H and the flagship AV. All will share the same 1.5-litre engine paired to a D-CVT automatic. Perodua is quite proud of the claimed fuel consumption of 22 km/L (4.55 L/100 km) with the Eco Idle system turned on.
Pricing for the second-gen 7-seater is estimated as the following and comes with a 5-year warranty:
“Better late than never.” Some despise it, others begrudgingly agree with it but he swears by it… much to the chagrin of everyone around him. That unfortunately stems from all of his project cars not running most of the time, which in turn is testament to his questionable decision-making skills in life. A culmination of many wrongs fortunately making a right; much like his project cars on the rare occasions they run, he’s still trying to figure out if another project car is the way to go.
