Anthony Loke: New and improved road tax sticker coming this year
We’ve all faced that conundrum every year when it is time to do the tradition of replacing the road tax sticker. No matter how carefully you peel it, those stickers just don’t quite stick it.
After taking the LRT incognito as well as doing a spot-check at KLIA2, Transport Minister Anthony Loke’s next aim is to improve those low-quality road tax stickers. In one of his latest posts on Facebook, he stated that he had just concluded a meeting with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to discuss the department’s plans for 2023.
One of the main agendas for JPJ this year is to implement digitalisation in core services such as driver and vehicle license renewal as well as enforcing some traffic laws.

The biggest and most welcoming news of all is regarding those pesky, low-quality road tax stickers which Anthony Loke has acknowledged in his post.
“I know many people have complained about the poor-quality road tax stickers. This issue is indeed in our attention and a massive change is to be rolled out within this year,” the post stated.
The Transport Minister further stated that these new initiatives would be carefully planned and an official announcement will be made once they are ready to roll out. He further states in the post that the main agenda is to ease the process for the people especially in reducing the long waiting lines at the JPJ offices.
