We’ve seen Lego replicate Lamborghinis and Ferraris, their most recent replica is a life-size Lego McLaren F1 car! While having Lego replicate the Perodua Myvi into a Lego model is a far-fetched dream, these artists took it upon themselves to create one themselves!
Entitled the King of the Road Showcase, the art installation is set up by Bryks.Art, a group of artists on Facebook. The show will run from now until 29-May-2022 at level G2 of Publika.
Note that this show is not a project by Lego or Perodua, hence the artists have to change the name to Mybi to avoid any copyright issues.
The show features five variations of the Perodua Myvi. They include Mybi Tractor, Mybi Rocket, Mybi Tank, Mybi ATV, and even a life-size model simply named the Mybi.
The life-size model is of the second-generation Perodua Myvi and it even features doors that can be opened and headlights that can be turned on.
The artists did not miss any details as the model even had a replica of the Myvi’s instrument panel, air-conditioning controls, and even the Myvi’s floor pedals.
To be clear, the Mybis on show are not real Legos but a variation of the interlocking plastic bricks. But let’s face it, we only know these building blocks as Legos so that’s what we’re going to call it!
There isn’t a time in memory that doesn’t involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle women’s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
