Talk about a Honda-heavy week, as just one day after we welcomed the all-new2022 Honda Civic(FE) on our shores, our Singaporean neighbours have opened registration of interest for the all-new 2022Honda HR-V.
The model's launch on the island takes place next week, on Friday, 21-January 2022. It'll be a virtual launch.
Exact specifications are still cloudy, but we know the name of the three variants making it there: the 1.5 DX and 1.5 LX, as well as the hybrid 1.5 e:HEV. Registration of interest for Singaporean customers are also open.
Though parallel importers were quick to import a few units in, specifications for the officially-imported model will differ from what's on the used car market.
Thailand is the first in the region to introduce the all-new HR-V, and they exclusively sell only hybrid variants, which comes with Honda's dual-motor Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system.
This mates a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle naturally-aspirated engine (106 PS/127 Nm) with an electric motor (131 PS/253 Nm). Drive is sent to the front wheels via an E-CVT automatic.
As for the regular variants, it's yet to be ascertained whether they'll get a turbocharged or naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre engine.
Apart from its powertrain the all-new Honda HR-V is chock-full of new items, including a trick air-cond system and the Honda Sensing active safety suite.
