Aggressive pricing for aggressive cars is the mantra for Audi in Thailand as they launched the 2020 Audi TT RS Coupe, 2020 Audi RS4 Avant and 2020 Audi RS Q8, aiming squarely at similar BMW and Mercedes-Benz offerings.
The four-wheel drive Audi TT RS is powered by a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine pushing 405 PS that's mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). At THB 5.3 million - it's a whole million baht cheaper than the 2020 BMW M2 Competition.
The 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6, 456 PS RS4 Avant is the second model in the lineup. Priced at THB 5.9 million, it retails cheaper than its nearest two competitors - the soon-to-be phased out BMW M3 and the Mercedes-Benz E63.
Then there’s the Audi Q8 RS - the current flagship of the RS line. It’s similar to the 2020 Lamborghini Urus in more ways than one - sharing the same underpinnings, 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 (608 PS here compared to the Lambo’s 660 PS) and eight-speed automatic gearbox. At THB 11 million, it fights a in a different arena against the 2020 BMW X6 and Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe, both of which have yet to reach Thailand.
With humble beginnings collecting diecast models and spending hours virtually tuning dream cars on the computer, his love of cars has delightfully transformed into a career. Sanjay enjoys how the same passion for cars transcends boundaries and brings people together.
